W-Hour

August 1st, 1944 — the hour was 5 o'clock — the W-hour. Warsaw Uprising began.

To this day only some insurgents are still alive — but the walls of tenement houses in all districts of our capital city, although being silent witnesses, still can say a story or two. A sad story written by bullet holes, set in memorial plaques, or accompanied by sad, single flowers left by these who still remember.

At the W-Hour, 65 years later, these memories are still strong in our hearts. At the W-Hour I took my cam, get to the yard of one of the old tenement houses in Śródmieście, and then looked up, taking this photo, and listening like the silence of the moment was screaming with the voices of sirens all around the city.
